The Red Panda, Firefox[1], or Lesser Panda , or Ailurus fulgens ("shining cat"), is a mostly herbivorous mammal, specialized as a bamboo feeder. It is slightly larger than a domestic cat (40 - 60 cm long, 3 - 6 kg weight). The Red Panda is endemic to the Himalayas in Bhutan, southern China, India, Laos, Nepal, and Burma. Red Panda is the state animal in the Indian state of Sikkim. It is also the mascot of the Darjeeling international festivals. There is an estimated population of less than 2,500 mature individuals. Their population continues to decline due to habitat fragmentation.[2]

재미있는 글 감사합니다. wikipedia가서 검색해보니 red panda와 red fox를 둘 다 지칭하네요^^

판다의 사부도 판다였군요.;;;
사실 판다라는 종 자체가 너구리과와 곰과의 중간정도로 취급되다 , 최근(?)에 판다과로서 별개로 분류하고 있지요.
자이언트 판다인 포의 경우 곰과에 가까운 듯 하고, 레서판다인 시푸의 경우 너구리에 좀 더 가까운 느낌이랄까요
